Fundamentals of Meditation Series

April is Meditation Month at Elevate Community Yoga! In honor of this sacred ancient practice, there will be a guided group Meditation being offered at the studio each Thursday evening from 7-7:45pm starting on the 4th of April. Each installment in the series will revolve around a different form of commonly practiced meditation techniques (schedule listed below). No previous experience is required and all ages are welcome. Comfortable clothes are highly recommended as we will be sitting for 30+ minutes. Also feel free to bring any items such as a blanket or pillow that may assist in your ability to relax. As always there is an assortment of blankets, bolsters and other props available for your use at the studio.

Here is a quick of breakdown of the focus of each installment…

4/04: Cultivating a Non-Judgmental approach to daily life through Mindful Meditation

4/11: The Buddha’s meditation (16 steps to a concentration based meditation)

4/18: The art of Compassion and Kind-Hearted gratitude

4/25: The use of sounds, frequencies and Mantra’s to aid in Meditation

Our guide on this expedition is a faithful practitioner and adamant advocator of Meditation (as well as a loyal member of the Elevate community) named Jake Murry. If you have ever met Jake there is a very good chance the practice of meditation has been discussed and his passion for the practice is one that can inspire others.

Suggested Donation: $5/drop in or $15/all 4 classes. Members: FREE

And of course if you want to get your flow on beforehand you can always attend the evening Vinyasa class from 5:30-6:45pm (normal drop-in rates apply).
